CITY WALLS
The city is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland and one of the finest examples in Europe. These famous walls which date back to the early part of the seventeenth century have withstood several sieges, the most celebrated lasting 105 days. There are fine views from the top of the walls which encircle the old city, a circuit of one mile. Open to the public from dawn to dusk with daily walking tours available all year round.
GUILDHALL

ST. COLUMB's CATHEDRAL
St. Columb's Cathedral is the most historic building in the city. The Chapter House Museum has many interesting items from the siege of 1689 and new information panels tell the history of the Cathedral and some of the personalities associated with it. Open all year. Tel: 00 44 (28) 71267313
